Swimming is one of the best exercises that improves fitness and also tones your body. There are no age barriers and people is different age will be able to do the aquatic exercises in swimming pools, as children under 16 are not allowed to use the gym for heavy exercises, swimming can help smooth and tone their body up, till they are old enough to get inside the gym and build up muscles.
There are plenty of exercises, that can be done in a swimming pool to work different parts of your body such as abdominal, arms, legs, shoulders, back and others.
At the gym to do these various exercises, you will have to use different machines, from cardio to muscle building make is going to be twice as hard than swimming. You can work out various parts of muscles by doing one stroke in swimming.
However, you shouldn’t over do it at the gym or swimming pool, especially if you are a first timer overdoing can cause you seriour injury. Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise for people of all age.

But bare is mind that aquatic therapy is completely different than aquatic exercise. Aquatic or water therapy focuses on body stress management, whereas exercise is done by people in good health to tone their body or endurance.
This should give you an idea on what kind of exercise to do in a swimming pool, if it is to lose weight, body healing or edurance. Good thing about this is you can do all this at home, if you have a swimming pool. Most people these days built inground swimming pools as an investment.
