Broncos At Chargers – NFL Betting Lines

| February 8, 2012

NFL betting lines happen to be turned upside down by the undefeated Denver Broncos who now lead the NFL betting race in the AFC west. NFL betting lines handicappers have again seen the San Diego Chargers stumble out from the NFL betting gate for the third consecutive season.

The Denver Broncos have a NFL betting lines record of 5-0 both straight up and against the spread.   Denver went under the NFL football betting total in all 5 of their games this year.  The Broncos are coming off a NFL betting high just after beating the New England Patriots in overtime 20-17 as 3 point home dogs.  Denver ranks 6th in total offense but just 22nd in scoring.

The Bronco defense has been the big reason for their accomplishment using the NFL betting lines as it ranks 2nd in total yards permitted and 1st in points allowed.  Quarterback Kyle Orton is off to a fine start using the NFL betting lines as he has a QB rating of 97.4 and also a 7/1 touchdown to interception ratio.

The San Diego Chargers possess a NFL betting lines record of 2-2 straight up and 1-3 against the spread.  The Chargers are coming off a bye week which followed a 28-38 loss for the NFL betting lines at Pittsburgh.  The Chargers rank 10th in scoring and 2nd in passing with superstar quarterback Philip Rivers, who has a sub par 90.6 QB rating with a 6/3 touchdown to interception ratio.

San Diego has struggled on the ground and that has put more pressure on Rivers.  Last year the Chargers destroyed Denver 52-21 in the final game from the frequent season to overtake the Broncos as AFC West champions.  That big payout against the NFL betting lines set into motion the firing of Bronco coach Mike Shanahan along with the hiring of his replacement Josh McDaniels.  The Chargers now face a should win matchup with the NFL betting lines for this one.

“I do not know how you can have extra urgency on this game,” said coach Norv Turner.  “I feel our team has carried out a superb job for preparing for every single of our games.  Clearly in some circumstances we haven’t played the way we like to.” Denver has failed to cover the spread in their last 6 trips to San Diego.

Rafael Nadal Is More Of An Icon Than A Celeb

| January 28, 2012

A celebrity is someone whose popularity might be based largely on the amount of times their name is mentioned in the media channels, or whose image has all of a sudden appeared as a feature in well-liked culture. An icon is someone that has come to represent some field of enterprise by virtue of accomplishment in that field. Rafael Nadal is a tennis icon as well as being a star.

Born in 1986, in Spain, Rafael has risen to be ranked top of the Earth as a tennis player numerous times and has won more than ten Grand Slam titles. However , it's the fact that he has suffered defeat and injury that exposes him as an icon. His accomplishments are real, not spurious. They have come about under the most strenuous circumstances.

Like other top sports people he is facing unceasing, unrelenting competition from other players who do everything in their power to topple him. The larger his record of success the harder others will make efforts to beat him. As in the jungle, so in the world of sport, the fittest survive. It is in Nadal’s record of survival against great odds that his classic status has been revealed.

With the feats already recorded he will be recalled as one of the great players in the history of the game. After retirement and eventual death his story will endure. In his case it is a story of honest excellence of which he and his family can be proud.

In the history of tennis there were some stars who have not been a credit to the game. Some have ranted at referees and officials. Some have thrown on-court temper tantrums and sulked when given bad calls. Others became distended headed with success. Rafael can't be accused of any such failings.

He has remained a calm, good humored and generous sportsman thru triumph and discontent. It is clear to his fans that he's a good pal and companion to those who travel with him and to his opponents. For lots of his fans these human qualities are as excellent as his experience. They complement his classic status.

Maybe because he started his playing career at the age of 4, Rafael Nadal has built his tennis game on athleticism. That's not to claim that he lacks finesse or polish, but a facet of his game is that he'll cover ground with the velocity of a snake. Ironically, this amazing ability may be his Achilles Heel. Each human body slows down with age and each tendon and muscle is subject to injury when strained. As time rolls by it will be necessary for coach ‘Uncle Toni ‘ to concentrate on energy efficiency and court craft to extend the playing career of his charge.

Matt Harmon has been an avid tennis player for 25 years. His passion is to highlight and follow the greatest tennis players of all time like Rafael Nadal, also known as Rafa.
