What Can Trampolines Be Used For?

| July 3, 2010

Since the birth of trampolines in 2000 summer Olympic Games the sales of trampolines have risen from the early 90′s. Not because everyone wants to be in the Olympic Games for trampoline but also other various reasons trampolines can be used for.

The latest research done by a UK University shows that many families in the UK are buying trampolines. Trampolines are generally used for fuc activities and family bonding by a lot of families. Using the trampolines as fun activities it will bring family closer together and help them maintain a strong relationship. When children get to teenage years they tend drift away from family bonding. It has happened to me. By drifting I don’t mean it in an aggressive way, it’s just that when they become teenagers some feel that parents are nagging them all the time. So having quality fun times with family can definitely help you get closer to your family and kids.

Trampolines can also be used for your exercise and fitness programs. You can use the trampoline after work or early in the morning before you go to work. There are different shapes and sizes of trampolines so you don’t have to worry about space. You can have rebounders also known as mini trampolines, which fits anywhere inside the house. It is also very easy to put away as you can fold it. Mini trampolines or rebounders are used for aerobics and fitness regime by many to help them reduce body fat. There are garden size 14ft trampolines and 12ft trampolines which are relevant for fun activities for families and children.

Trampolines are also used to train pilots to have the feel of the air. Navy and Army have ongoing trampoline exercise programs for their staffs and new people who joined the force. Trampoline also helps in balancing the body in awkward positions, which is a vital part of training for any army men.

There also other numerous tips on how to use a trampoline, which I will be covering in my next posts.

Pontiac Solstice Wows Em!

| April 25, 2010

It’s easy to blast off in the Solstice right from the show room floor. The Pontiac Solstice combines raw power, a raft of amenities, and knock-em-over styling causing double takes. One needs to go back into the time machine until the 1959 Bonneville to refer back to any other worthy Pontiac split-screen. This car delivers the same thrills as the BMW Z4 and Audi TT, with only half of the cost.

For selections the Solstice has two options: the base package and the GXP. The base package packs a 173 horse power, 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine that’s still sips the gas. The souped-up GXP package takes 260 hour power turbocharged engine into a 2.0 liter, four cylinder engine. Both power engines are attaches onto a five speeder manual or auto transmission. The base model does include electronic traction and stability control, limited slip rear differential, anti-lock disc brakes all the way around the car, generous 18-inch alloy wheels, and crisp satellite radio. The GXP adds onto the base package, and then adds dual exhaust tips, a sport transmission, leather shift know and steering wheel, and upgraded floor mats.

While there’s much to enjoy for the Solstice, it’s not without some draw backs. The steering can be sloppy. The Solstice tips the scale at over 3000 pounds, so being quick-and-lite is not upon the abilities of this car. Also, coming out of corners, the Solstice tends to hang on. Taking off from the red light, the acceleration does leave something to be desired. The car is also not ergonomically friends, with components in awkward positions, composed of parts made of plastic from third world countries. Trunk space is sparse, hardly holding enough for a weekend trip.

One can quibble over these minor problems, while the exterior style more than makes up for these deficiencies. Pontiac isn’t known for head-turning styling; with the Solstice, they finally turn the tide. The Solstice has awesome styling, something from both yesterday and tomorrow. People walking by will turn their heads and check your car out. The merits of this car decidedly weigh on the plus side. Enthusiasts contemplating a sports car should jump into this car and not look back.
