The Best Golf Tips To Hit Your Drives Longer And Straighter

| October 27, 2011

Most players are looking for tips to improve their driving and their golf swing basics. Hitting off the tee is one of the most significant aspects of the game, and is also one of the most tricky. A lot of golf players truly don’t feel confident at the tee. Half of their shots will be sound, the other half “who knows”. Here are some golf tips for driving that nearly all players will benefit from, irrespective of their skill level.

Keep the ball in play. Many golfers are focused on striking the ball as far as possible, but even the most amazing distance means little if it does not stay in play. If the ball hooks or slices into the woods and you lose strokes, what good was that long drive? Whenever feasible, choose accuracy over length.

When you take your address on the tee, concentrate on proper posture. Although correct posture is different for everyone, there are some general factors to use as a starting point.

Your feet should be shoulder width apart, and the ball just inside your left heel. Throughout the complete swing, your head must be positioned behind the ball.

A number of golfers stand too straight or slump over too much as they address the ball. Ideally, you need to have some flex in your knees.

Another fundamental golf tip for better driving that you should keep in mind, especially if you are new to the game, is that trying to hit the ball harder often results in a substandard drive. You don’t need to kill the ball in order to get more length off the tee. Instead, maximize the speed in which the club head descends into the ball. In other words, faster club head speed is the secret of how to hit a golf ball further.

The final tip to improve your driving is to practice. Consistent, quality practice is really the only path to improve your golf game. Even if you have limited time to spend on the range, try dedicating just 30 minutes a week. Work with your driver, and one or two other clubs.

There are hundreds of golf tips for better driving that you can find online. There is one thing that is worthy to remember about the golf, that’s the more you know, the better your game will be.

TaylorMade R11 Driver – Super Adjustable

| April 27, 2011

The TaylorMade R11 driver became available in February 2011 so is the very recent model driver from Taylormade. Their drivers have always been very popular and I’m positive this will be no exception with the new technology and innovation in the R11 driver.

This latest technology enables the driver to be tuned in a matter of minutes to an individual’s swing. One torque wrench is used to make all adjustments.

It is a very distinctive looking driver with a white crown and black face. The white color makes the 440cc club head seem to be slightly larger which will tend to give the golfer more assurance. It also provides excellent contrast to the grass making aiming easier, especially in low light conditions. Because it is a matt white it won’t reflect the sun on sunny days. The black club face makes it one of the easiest drivers to align at address.

Faster club head speed is promoted by the new aerodynamic shape which will give you that added distance you are looking for.

Flight Control Technology (FCT)

The Flight Control Technology allows you to increase or decrease the launch angle. Or change the face angle without affecting loft?

By changing the adjustable sole plate up or down you can adjust the face angle.  This is really easy with the torque wrench. This allows you to select an open, closed or neutral face angle.

Movable Weight Technology

This allows you to adjust the centre of gravity which means you can adjust the face angle to promote a fade or draw.

The combination of the three adjustability technologies gives the TaylorMade R11 owner up to 48 combinations of loft, face angle and draw/fade bias to play with. TaylorMade say that these options can produce up to 100 yards difference in side-to-side trajectory depending on the golfer’s chosen settings.

While all this adjustability is complex it is not complicated and allows the driver to be tairlored to fit every golfers needs.

You have the option of either 9 dgree or 10.5 degree loft and is available in both right and left handed, of course. The shaft flex options are regular/senior/stiff/x-stiff so there is a shaft to suit all needs. The shaft material is Fujikura Blur 60 graphite.

A more expensive TP version of the TaylorMade R11 is also available.  This is suitable for high performance, competitive based players. This has 21 custom shafts to select from.

The majority of golfers using the TaylorMade R11 driver are extremely happy with their purchase and have found that it has improved their game to a great extent. The muted sound the club makes on impact disappoints a few but most say the sound on contact is awesome.
