Improvise And Broaden Your Horse Training Outcomes
Games Guy | February 8, 2012
While the bulk of the financial and economic concerns of recent times and their effects have mostly subsided, many still cling to a provident sense of practicality, having learned thru trouble firsthand Caring for and coaching your horses are still just about as high-priced as before the economic crisis. Not a great deal of horse riders have the budget to accomplish what they want with their horses, but interrelated costs haven’t dropped much in any way. So what are we to do in the face of obligatory flexibility and limited monetary reach? Improvisation.
Yes, we are able to still enjoy ourselves with slow pony riding, but many equestrian trainers still have keen desires to train their horses for sport. And though not exactly for dressage level events, the game trainers wish to compete in still comprise infrastructure and training methods that in turn need financial capacity—or at least creativeness and ingenuity to by-pass that. Indeed, with a little retrospection, bartering, and borrowing, a coach can do a lot with what’s to hand. Admittedly, what you can cook up will not be adequate to prepare for dressage, but your goal is inexpensive horse activities that thrive even in such a constricted economy. Dressage does not exactly fit the bill.
So let’s see what you were given first. Retrospect. See what you have handy and think what you can do with it. If you have a piece of flat land you use to house 2 or 3 corrals, why not change your standpoint? Instead of corrals, why don’t you utilize the space to substantiate a training pen on good footing? But wait, though that is sufficient room for pony riding, is there anything you can train your horses for with it? Well, how about jumping?
You most likely have equestrian chums who have got a couple of jumps scattered around. Borrow them. Set them up in the new coaching pen. Of course, you’ll have to clear the space and set up the new perimeter. Doing so alone would take great time and effort, so barter with neighbours so that they can help you. Do one chore for them in exchange for their aid. Now that everything’s set up, it is time to proceed with the jumping coaching.
But wait, there are a selection of different jumping hurdles and methods in the equestrian sport. Would 1 or 2 jumps be sufficient coaching material? Well, that depends. Here is where ingenuity and creativeness kicks in the most—even more than when you looked at that piece of flat land and went on to transform it from corrals to a training pen.
You can train horses in 1 or 2 alternate ways to jump across obstacles using even only 1 jump. It’d be an experiment at most, but stick to your most reliable equestrian coaching methods. Consult pros and more experienced trainers and breeders, and use other barriers and environs, like natural hurdles, when pony riding. This way, your pony can also put what she is taught into practice.
