Coaching Child Soccer

| October 18, 2011

Soccer is a fantastic way to present team playing and sports to children. When you elect to coach your kid’s soccer league, you may want to follow some basic training ideas and tips. Getting kids to enjoy practice is a great way to begin. You will want to train them how to have fun, while understanding the game with some basic training skills. Game based training sessions are a great way to go. This type of technique teaches them the game, while keeping training at a high intensity level, making them more ready when it comes to game day.

There are a few basic rules to consider when you use game style practice for children. It is valuable that they all get a chance to touch the ball. Their confidence will expand, and you will be giving every player fair playing time. It will be important not to punish or reward players based on their playing and skill levels. Coaching and training kids can get tricky. This type of practice will only be useful by replicating real games. Let them play a game without overly worrying about drills, as you can practice on that later.

Some other game playing style drill ideas are Hit The Coach, which allows children to practice dribbling and passing. This forces them to play the field while keeping their head up. Red Light-Green Light is a great children’s game that can be used in drilling. This will help them dribble with control, stop, and change speeds quickly. A wonderful training game called Monkey in the Middle teaches how to work on receiving a ball and in turn passing it off quickly, all while under pressure. A fun way to teach players how to play as a team with one touch passing, is a training skill called Kickball. This also prepares children with running drills, learning how to catch a pass and run without the ball.

Dealing with your players’ parents will be an even larger battle than creating fun practices. The most difficult part of teaching children to play soccer will be learning how to deal with their folks. It is almost inevitable during drills and games to have parents standing in the portable bleachers yelling at their kids and at you. Don’t ever go into the bleachers during a game or practice to confront a parent. Discuss any problems you might be having with them alone.

One of the most fun and rewarding things you will ever do is training children how to play soccer. Knowing how to deal with difficult parents and making practice fun will help you find success. You will have no regrets training as long as you remember to have fun.

| September 27, 2010

If you enjoy a physical and challenging hobby that is favored by many grown ups, teens and preteens in any gender or age, you may enjoy paintball. In order to start in paintball, you will need some basic equipment. One of the most important pieces of equipment is the paintball gun. There is just no way that you can play paintball without a paintball gun.

For a player who is just beginning, it may be difficult to figure out which type of marker to buy by not knowing the sport. It’s hard to figure out which make, model and style to purchase when you haven’t developed your own personal style and method of playing paintball. Before making a purchase, you should make sure the following factors are considered:

* Can your budget afford it? A gun for paintball is not cheap. In fact, many paintball guns run in the one thousand dollar range. By having a price set in your head of what you are willing to spend, you will have an idea of what you can afford. You can purchase a nice gun for a reasonable price. Beginners need not spend a great deal on a gun.

* Think about the paintball game style you will be playing. Many players start out playing at a slow pace, but they can easily advance. If you enjoy challenge and speed, you will need a gun designed for the sport.

* Get information from other paintball players. More than likely, you will already have a friend that plays paintball. Get their advice of which type of marker you should buy. Most any paintball player will love to converse about the game.

* Read paintball reviews. Friends are good sources for advice but there are others who have a lot of information in regards to the different models and makes of paintball guns. You can read reviews which will provide much insight on all different types of guns.

You should try any paintball gun out that you are considering purchasing. If it’s possible, you should try it out. Here are some other options of getting a feeling for paintball guns:

* Borrow one from a friend. By doing this, you can check the sport out before investing money. Some friends may not want to loan their gun out but they may give in if they know they will have another paintball friend in the game.

* Rent a paintball gun. Almost all paintball fields rent guns out to people who didn’t bring their own gear. This is an excellent way of checking out different guns. While these guns may not be top picks, they will still include many of the beginner models.

Paintball is an extremely fun sport to play for almost any person who enjoys fast paced action. Yes, the game is physical but it also required brains and wits. You must first have a paintball gun to start out. Whether you rent or purchase one, it is crucial that you find a gun you are comfortable with operating. By understanding the very basics of the paintball game, the marker can make the most difference of all.
