Rodrigo Pessoa, is known for the trustworthy and original, Pessoa Saddles. He grew up by his father’s example and at the age of twelve years old, he seized the title, “Champion of the Pony Class,” in Belgium. He was the certainly the youngest rider competing at the Olympic Games in 1992. This superstar, having become a champion, gave a brand and strength to each Pessoa product!

Quality Products

Pessoa Saddles are manufactured from select leathers which are obtained from well-known European tanneries. Care is taken that nothing during the fabrication process will harm the environs, as these saddles are made with no man-made materials. Pessoa Saddles are full in texture and color, tanned with chrome in a traditional method. They are known for their extreme durability and surprisingly perfect feel!  Pessoa only uses judiciously chosen and authentic leather.

The engineering behind all Pessoa products is unique, and they are all really well put produced. They are prepared with two different types of panels for the rider to select, both kinds which are prepared to last. Each Pessoa is sold with a adjustable gullet plate X-change system so the rider can change the breadth of the tree.

Size

The physical size of the rider should usually determine the size of the saddle seat. For younger riders, a seventeen inch seat would be comfortable. Larger, 17.5in. seats are built for adult riders and 18inch for bigger riders. All Pessoa saddle trees are produced by DuPont, and made with unique polymers which are quite flexible. For this reason, Pessoa’s never lose resistance and flexibility and they adjust just right to the contour of the horse and it’s rider. Even temperature changes will not vary the saddle structure. To choose a saddle correctly, you must 1st pick the seat size, flap size and finally, the knee roll. Pessoa’s are made through a 200 year old leather tanning procedure and are well respected among riders.

Care and Upkeep

Caring for the Pessoa Saddle is a skill worth picking up. When left out to dry, saddles may crack or harden. There are some products available to help extend the life of your Pessoa. Gel, or “saddle” soap, for daily maintainance, and tanning oil which is used prior to your first ride, will provide lasting protection.
