How to Buy Firearms and Ammo Online Legally
Games Guy | August 31, 2011
Buying guns online is safe, simple and saves you time and money. But there are particular Federal and local laws that must definitely be obeyed to keep it legal.
You must be 18 or older to purchase long guns and 21 or older to purchase handguns
Check your local & state laws.
Secondarily, Fed Firearms Laws stop shipping guns directly to you. Instead , sellers have to ship any gun to a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) Dealer in your neighborhood.
This is how it works:
Make your get online, ensuring you are following all state and local laws. For a listing of these laws, feel free to visit the Laws section of the Nation's Rifle Association’s website.
You'll also get it from local gun classifieds website.
To buy from a dealer, find an FFL dealer in your area that will accept the transferring of your gun. Most dealers, which include sporting goods stores, pawn shops, gunsmiths and gun stores, are willing to do this for a nominal charge.
Have the dealer FAX or email a copy of their valid and signed FFL form to your seller. California may need you to include a CFLC number.
Once the dealer has received the FFL, you firearm can be shipped to your dealer. Ask for Two envelopes with your order, one addressed to your FFL without any order totals or pricing, and one addressed to you with your invoice.
