US Open 2010 – Federer’s wonder shot

US Open is known as United States Open Tennis championships. It is one of the top four grand slam events, which takes place every year. US Open is hosted at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York City. This year at US Open there has been thousands of promotional merchandise prepared of the top 10 players, which included, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Well not surprising to be honest as they are the favourites to win it.

Though having said that Roddick has been knocked out of this year’s US Open in the first round by Serb Janko Tipsarevic. His loss is a big surprise after his fantastic season so far. He has looked fitter and better than before. Many people think Federer won’t be able to win another grand slam after his poor performance in Wimbledon and French Open but he did win the Australian Open guys so don’t count the maestro out. The current number one Spaniard Rafael Nadal is another favourite to win the title with the bookies, but hard court is not his speciality. US Open is the only grand slam Nadal hasn’t won yet but I am sure he is determined to prove his critics wrong and win it. He has recently taken Federer’s place as the number one player in the World.

As US Open is his favourite surface many believe this year Andy Murray will win his first ever Grand Slam title of his career. In the recent hard court tournament in Toronto, Andy Murray beat both Nadal and Federer to take the title. He has what it takes to beat these two and he has shown it in the big stage but now he needs to step it up. He has reached two grand slam finals so far but has lost to Federer both times. So he must be gunning to improve those finals stats.

To all Murray fans you can buy the team’s corporate clothing, branded pens and UK flags just out the Flushing Meadows.
